I first learned about Shady Rays sunglasses from a Facebook sponsored post. You know, those annoying posts you usually ignore, but something about this particular post made me look into the company further. I reached out to the company to try them out for myself.

After a couple of weeks wearing the Signature Series Infrared Ice Polarized and a pair of their Aviator Elite Slate Polarized glasses, I wanted to share my thoughts about this awesome product and company!

What We Love:

PRICE: Shady Rays has a very competitive price point, lower than most high-end sunglass brands. Prices range from $35 to $88, depending upon the type of glasses you order. Similar brands are at least twice that cost, so Shady Rays is a steal!

LOST OR BROKEN REPLACEMENT: It is pretty common for companies to back up their offerings with a warranty against manufacturer defects, but that is usually where it stops and where Shady Rays picks up the slack. They offer afree replacement of any of their glasses if you happen to lose them while paddle-boarding (something I have done recently) or break them in any way. If you are active like we are, breaking and/or losing sunglasses is one of those things that happens way too often.

Shady Rays offers up to two replacements per pair of glasses purchased so you can wear your shades without constantly worrying about how much it is going to cost you to replace them should the worst happen. Definitely worth that peace of mind!

POLARIZED LENSES: I love polarized lenses. Whether it’s long drives in our motorhome, excursions on the water, or bright days in the desert, I need polarized lenses to cut glare. Most sunglasses charge at least an extra $50 to $100 for polarized lenses. For example, my current Electrics cost me $150 on sale. Shady Rays offers polarized lenses on all but 2 pairs of glasses in their product lineup which is amazing.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY: We get behind brands that support companies that are doing good in the world instead of just chasing profits. We feel that our purchasing power is the only real force for change we have, so we try to support as many socially responsible companies as possible. For every order placed, Shady Rays donates 11 meals to the charity Feeding America. So you get cool sunglasses and contribute to ending someone's hunger through your purchase. It doesn't get better then that!

Other Things To Consider:

CONSTRUCTION: The Signature Series sunglasses are very sturdy and felt like they wouldn't take too much of a beating from our adventure lifestyle. However, the Aviator Elites feel much more delicate in handling. The frames are thinner, and we were worried that we would break them immediately. Good thing there is that replacement warranty! That being said, we have been wearing them on hikes and around town, tossing them around, and basically not being careful with them to see what their breaking threshold would be. The good news is that we haven't managed to bend or break them yet (which might be a new record for Alex since she is the destroyer of sunglasses). So despite their fragile appearance, they have surprisingly held up!

Final Thoughts:

This is an awesome brand with an awesome product! They give you many unique features that youwon’t get from any other manufacturer and you won't have to pay an arm and a leg for! We like the styling of the ones they sent us and are interested to try out some of their other cool styles and colors on their website. The mission of the company is on point and the replacement guarantee is genius. We love Shady Rays sunglasses! Check them out yourself at www.shadyrays.com!
