Mar 6 White Sands Wonderland

Imagine miles and miles of crushed selenite crystal dunes constantly shifting in the wind. No, I'm not describing a sci-fi movie set, but rather the very real setting of White Sands National Monument! This magical place in New Mexico captured our hearts and re-ignited some passion and romance just in time for the holidays! How could you not fall in love all over again with your significant other in a place like this! Enjoy this photographic journey through a wonderland of white sands!

Lonely plants burst up across the shifting dunes in hopes not to be swallowed up by the moving sand.

The texture of the wind makes its imprint in different and very unique patterns.

Dog Friendly!

One of the best parts about visiting a national monument is that dogs are allowed! So you can imagine how much fun these nuggets had on our long 5 mile hike through the sands!

Elway, our black lab, could not get enough of sliding down the 30 foot dunes with a big smile on his face.

The Healing Power of Selenite

I am a big believer in the power of crystals! I sleep with selenite under my bed because of its amazing ability to provide mental clarity, deep sleep and physical healing! I've had guests in my home back in San Diego tell me they get the best sleep of their lives in my guest beds... little do they know they can thank two small selenite crystals for that!

So you can imagine my excitement to enter a land of miles of selenite everywhere! I spent much time at this National monument in meditation and just soaking up all the yummy energy. It was incredibly revitalizing and we all left in much better moods than we came in with.

Dream Camping in the Dunes

There is camping in the dunes here, but you have to make sure that it does not conflict with the missile testing schedule. The US government uses this site to test missiles and perform different military operations that close the park to the public. I highly recommend camping here, but check the schedule! There is nothing like waking up to silence and sparkling!
